الخلاصة

In this work a novel complex of platin (IV) with novel azo ligand [4 (5-methoxy benzene azo) – barbituric acid (MBB) was synthesized which was synthesized through diazo-coupling reaction for p-anisidine and barbituric acidز The complex was synthesized after fixing optimum conditions of pH and molar concentration using UV-Vis spectra for mixed solutions of pt(IV) and (MBB) within range of pH (3-9) and molar concentration in the range obeyed Lambert- Beer’s law. The structure of the complex was deduced according to the metal: ligand ratio which were obtained through spectroscopic studies of complex solutions, so using mole ratio and Job methods where was the mole ratio (1:2) (M: L) great bathochromic shift was noticed in the UV-Vis spectrum solution for the solid complex. At the same time FTIR spectrum and HNMR spectrum for the complex gave various changes in shape and position compared with the spectrum of ligand. The micro elemental analysis (C.H.N) together with the percentage of metal and chloride ion concentration was determined. Good agreement was obtained between the calculated and found percent. In addition the electrical conductivity for complex was measured in (10-3) molar DMF and Magnetic susceptibility. The ligand MBB and [Pt(MBB)2Cl2] complex appeared various cytotoxic effected against breast cancer cells (MCF-7) utilizing cell viability assay (MTT assay).
